My boy is only 37 days old..

Sometimes he is crying no matter how we hold him or put him down in the bed.

It is often best to simply put the baby in bed when he is crying.  After you put the baby down, don't keep picking him up!  If you pick him up even just once, he will keep crying in the future because he hopes to be picked up again.  Because we do not pick up our babies after we put them down to bed, our babies cry less than 5 minutes before they fall asleep on their own.  Usually once I leave the room and close the door, my babies stop crying.  They are smart.  They know that crying is not useful, so they don't keep doing it.  Again, be consistent, whatever you do.  Let your babies know that you are a consistent parent, and they will soon adjust.
